Quick Update...

-sitting at work right now realizing that it already the fourth week of the semester. Its crazy how fast things seem to go sometimes. My motivation for school = very slim. (But I still like my writing classes)

-did anyone else get to see the beautiful snow this morning. Matthew, Joe and myself woke up at 6 to the delight that it snowed while we were asleep. Got to ride our bikes to the Rec through the snow and it looked like we were the first ones to touch it. Pretty Sweet!

-oh this is kind of late but if you see Jay Quigley around tell him congrats for making it to the final round of the Truman Live talent show on March 3rd. He'll be performing a lovely song with his guitar and voice.

PS...anyone know what the boys are supposed to be doing for the Valentine's dinner?

Hi...this is an update about my life since last week or so.

-Doing really really well...feel like I've been learning a lot and living a much more disciplined, focused life than I did last semester. Feel like I'm getting back to my old self.

-I actually like all of my classes so far. Favorite right now is probably ENG 329 Non-fiction writing. Prof is great! and the topic is fun too...learning how to write about your life...sort of like memior. Something I want to get better at doing more often. I dont want to forget all of the events that happen to me or the lessons that I learn. We also read some essays in class from other authors which I enjoyed along with the idea that in writing we can connect our lives with those of others and begin to come to an understanding of what it means to be a human and live on this earth and even see what holds people back from following God.

- Relazing weekend...watched "The Grizzly Man" on Sat night. Documentary film about this guy who lived with bears in the wild for 10 years or so...reminded me how crazy and messed up people's lives can get...he thought he could be one of the bears. He ended up getting eaten by one of his bear friends. I wonder if the human psyche can only take so much, that sooner or later guys like this Grizzly Man can take whatever bad stuff is going on in their lives and just snap to where they fly to Alaska and think that they are "friends" with the foxes and bears. It makes me sad.

-working on my Upward Bound application for the summer...its a 6 week summer mentoring/tutoring program here at Truman. Good teaching experince plus a chance to impact the lives of some high school kids in the area. You all can be praying that this works out for me.

-**Don't forget that tonight Wednesday service is in the SUB Activities room, not VH 1000.

Attention all (well really only those that attend Truman State University):

- Derrick James Rohr has cordially invited all to the Poker Night he is hosting at his new home (#3 Mohwak Dr.) this Friday night at 8:30pm. It will be a very good time.        Now perhaps you are saying to yourself, "Kyle, I don't know how to play poker, and I really don't like to anyway". Well have no fear because even those not interested in poker are invited to come and hang out and play any card game they want or any board game they want to bring along with. Also if you are interested in learning how to play free lessons will be offered by our resident poker pro (who at this point must remained anonymous).

Directions to Derrick's House:

- Head north on Baltimore away from campus

- Turn left on Cottonwood Dr. (past the library)

- Turn right on Mohawk Dr.

- look for #3 Mohwak Dr. and you'll be at your destination.

- if you have any questions, concerns disagreements, you can contact me, Kyle t. Roff, who is now signing off.

Trying to be a good updater.

Weekend happenings:

-Watched Dancing with the Stars and Monk on TV at amy's. (Anyone who wants to have "Dancing with the Star Home Edition" please let me know...just dont know who the stars will be)

-slept in on Sat...awoken by 4 roommates laying on top of me in bed. Dont worry, it stayed PG.

-birthday parties (why are there so many January birthdays?) and Christmas with the Kranks movie fun with Amy...quality movie, Tim Allen gets botax

-Sunday service...Belzer and the Kingdom of Heaven. I liked his message a lot and it seemed to be a good intro to a large topic...also gave me a good focus for the week and a good way to think about life.

-Sunday afternoon...tried to do homework, was visited by two superheroines w/ cookies. One of them looked cute in tights.

so that is my weekend. By the way, I really like the bulleted lists so if anyone has a complaint about that please let me know. I doubt I'll change it but you can still voice your opinion.

**Poker Friday Night Jan 27 at 8:30pm at the house of Derrick Rohr (#3 Mohawk Dr.)

To Those it May Concern,

20 January 2006...A message from the long slumbering xanga site of Kyle t. Roff...

...I am alive, my fingers still work and I have recalled an online journal once posessed and used by my person to write about the occurances in my every changing life.

I am ready to acknowledge the fact that at least one or two people care about what happens in my life and want me to be posting on this very site at least more occasionally than once every 4 months.

Wyatt Feeler, I told you on New Years that I would again commence Xangaing...well here it is.

Things that have been happening in my life the past two weeks...

- I turned the age of 21. Went to Dave and Busters with my family. Received a digital camera as a gift.

- Returned to Kirksville, MO Began classes on Tuesday. Feel refreshed and refocused about life and love and all of that sort of thing.

- Apply to graduate school by Feb 15th of this very year. Trying to get into the MAE program at the university I currently attend. Very exciting.

-Enjoy being back in a routine, and having time in my schedule to do the things I truly care about. Very focused on taking care of my body and treating it with more respect than last semester.

-Excited about the two writing classes I have this semester. One creative, one non-fiction. Any ideas for short stories or poems are welcome.

Thank you for your time and reading what I have to say. This is Kyle t. Roff signing off...Peace!
